What Security Means to Me
Not so long ago, when I was a police officer, the term "private security" inspired images of the comedy Mall Cop. I had such a stigma about what I thought private security meant, and I was wrong.
Security is defined as "the state of being free from danger or threat." Isn't that a truly beautiful thing? Think about it; private security is a powerful calling. To provide individuals, families, children, and the disenfranchised with freedom from dangers, fears, and threats.
Security is a genuine pathway, feeling secure in their home or business allows individuals and groups to focus on their dreams. It's a conduit of peace for the people who seek it. It's a life raft of hope for those who have lost it. I can't express how blessed I am to lead and be part of an organization that focuses all its energy on people being free from the threats of modern-day society in 2024. To the single mother afraid of facing a threat or the business fearful of crime in the neighborhood: you are not alone. There are dedicated, well-trained people who have committed their lives to ensuring you do not have to be afraid.
